With only one month until the Global Learning Forum takes place, we are very happy to announce 13 incredible speakers and session leaders:

Chris Henderson, President, Lumos Energy and Board Chair, Globe Conference and Exposition: is Canada’s most respected commentator on Aboriginal clean energy opportunities

Colleen Giroux-Schmidt, Senior Director, Innergex Renewable Energy: is a government and regulatory affairs specialist and has worked on over 40 run-of-river hydro projects and BC’s largest wind farm

Harry Lehmann, Head of Division I, German Federal Environment Agency (UBA): has been an instrumental part of Germany’s energy transition and is the Executive Chairman of the World Renewable Energy Council

Cara Clairman, President and CEO, Plug’n Drive: runs a thriving EV non-profit and has twenty years of experience working in sustainable development and utilities.

Stefan Schurig, Director of Climate and Energy, World Future Council: has worked on international climate and energy issues and campaigns for decades, including advising various levels of government

Christie Baumel, Senior Energy Policy Advisor, City of Seattle: leads Seattle’s district energy initiative, a residential energy efficiency program, and steers implementation of the City’s carbon reduction strategy for residential and commercial buildings

John Robinson, Associate Provost, Sustainability, UBC: is a leading researcher on climate mitigation and sustainability and key person in UBC’s transformation as a living laboratory for environmental measures

Mark Roseland, Professor of Planning, SFU: has been cited by the Vancouver Sun as one of British Columbia’s “top 50 living public intellectuals” and a key thought leader towards advancing sustainable communities

Carsten Rothballer, Climate Policy Officer, ICLEI: works with local governments to build capacity on climate and energy issues

Rebecca Baker, Energy Benchmarking Program Manager, Office of Sustainability and Environment, City of Seattle: her work includes the development of Seattle’s Capital Green sustainable master plan and the City of Seattle 2011 Sustainable Building and Sites Policy

Mark Brostrom, Director, City Environmental Strategies, City of Edmonton: led Edmonton’s Environmental Strategic Plan and Green Building Policy and Plan and is currently leading the development of the City’s Energy Transition Strategy

Stephen Sheppard, Director, Collaborative for Advanced Landscape Planning (CALP), UBC: has over 30 years’ experience in environmental assessment and public participation internationally and leads an interdisciplinary research group

Eve Hou, Metro Vancouver Air Quality Planner: has been an air quality and climate change planner for over a decade in Canada and the United States and currently works on EV and home energy labelling
